Thephotos above have been taken on forest access roads in the Cloquet Valley State Forest in the past months.

They show just a few of hundreds of trails.

All of these trails will be open, and while it is said they will not be on the official map, it is also clear that there is no prohibition on maps made by the public, the data is already in circulation for these.

These trails will be subjected to enormous pressure, however the legislature has removed any requirement to maintain "forest access routes" thus leaving them entirely vulnerable or simple to be identified as closed.

Enforcement is minimal and will be limited to keeping ATVs out of closed areas, routine enforcement to keep the vehicles on actual existing trails will be minimal at best.

DNR Forestry and Wildlife experts state that it is well known that "closed" signs are quickly removed by ATV advocates, while open signs rarely are bothered.
